People of all ages gathered Saturday at Tom’s Barbershop in Greenwood to paint a mural by Mandy Freshour. The mural is the latest in the Color the County program, a public art outreach the Johnson County Community Foundation has used for the past eight years to beautify local spaces.

The mural depicts a summer nighttime scene with a moon, firefly, flowers and grass in hues of blue, yellow, white and purple. Freshour, a freelance graphic designer and 20-year resident of Johnson County, previously said the scene is meant to evoke summer memories that are iconic for so many Hoosiers.

Freshour will clean up the mural and complete the final touches in the next couple of weeks.
