Lane and ramp closures are again planned on Interstate 465 this week for the I-69 Finish Line Project.
Westbound I-465 between Interstates 65 and 70 will be reduced to one lane with 20-minute stoppages nightly Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge beam delivery and placement. This single-lane condition is expected to cause delays, so drivers should use an alternate route if possible, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update.
I-465 eastbound from I-70 to I-65 will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for movement of barrier walls, pavement striping and lane shifts.
The following entrance ramps will also be closed during this time:
- I-70 eastbound ramp to I-465 southbound
- State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
- Mann Road entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
- State Road 37/Harding Street entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
- U.S. 31/East Street northbound entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound.
Delays are expected over the weekend. INDOT encourages drivers to use an alternate route.
Also starting Friday, the westbound I-465 exit ramp at Mann Road (Exit 7) will close at 9 p.m. for up to 60 days for pavement reconstruction in westbound lanes. Motorists needing to access Mann Road from westbound I-465 should exit at Kentucky Avenue/State Road 67 (Exit 8), according to INDOT.
As for Interstate 69, a rolling single-lane closure is expected this week for northbound I-69 between State Road 144 and Fairview Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of raised pavement markings and punch list items, INDOT officials say.
All road work is weather-dependent.
