Walmart hosting wellness day

Free health screenings and immunizations will be available during Walmart Wellness Day, today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Customers can receive free glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure screenings as well as immunizations including COVID-19, flu, tetanus, hepatitis, HPV and more at pharmacies nationwide.

Local Walmarts are participating.

New boutique to open in Bargersville

Junction 111 Boutique is having a grand opening on Aug. 10 at 4 p.m. The store will offer women’s clothing described as Boho and chic, girly and cozy, with a touch of western flare, at 23 N. Baldwin St. The store will also offer wares from local vendors and unique items not found on Amazon.

For the grand opening, several extras will be offered including snacks, discounts and a $250 giveaway for anyone who makes a purchase. Vendors offering hair tinsel and permanent jewelry will also set up for the grand opening.

New gym to open in Greenwood

Three Cord Fitness, a CrossFit affiliate focusing on care community and change, will hold a grand opening on Aug. 24.

The gym is offering a free community workout class at 9 a.m., along with a raffle and special promotions that day for gym memberships.

The gym is located at 355 Commerce Parkway W. Ste. G and H, Greenwood.

‘Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana’ contest open

The Indiana Chamber’s fourth annual Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana competition is back and combines the state’s proud manufacturing tradition and passion for basketball. Applications for this year’s competition are now being accepted.

New this year, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce is joined by the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) in putting on the program. With the new IDDC partnership, the competitors are sure to get more recognition for their participation and success in the contest than ever. Not only will the IDDC use its social media and other statewide platforms to blast out the news of the tournament, the state agency also will produce high-quality videos featuring the eight quarterfinalists and their products.

Entries are being accepted for the Hoosier Hysteria-style single-elimination tournament at www.indianachamber.com/coolest. Entry is free and nominations will be accepted through Oct. 18.
