Johnson County police agencies holding National Night Out events Tuesday

Several Johnson County law enforcement agencies are hosting National Night Out events to connect police officers with residents Tuesday.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Here’s a look at events around the county on Tuesday. All of them are free and open to the public:

Bargersville

The Bargersville police, fire and parks departments are joining together to hold a “night of fun” from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kephart Park, 3936 W. County Road 144. The police and fire departments will be there, along with K-9 Dax and the bike patrol. There will be food trucks, yard games, children’s activities and giveaways, along with access to the park’s pickleball courts, playground and splash pad, said Kris Wilson, parks and recreation director.

Clark-Pleasant, Whiteland

The Clark-Pleasant and Whiteland police departments, along with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Whiteland Fire Department, are holding an event from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whiteland Community High School, 300 Main St. The night will feature fun, music community and sliders, according to Clark-Pleasant Police.

Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Police Department’s event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Shelter House, 722 S. Eisenhower Drive. Their event will feature free food, opportunities to meet members of the police and fire departments, chances to check out equipment and to see demonstrations, according to the department.

Greenwood

Greenwood Police will be hosting an event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Amphitheater Park, 300 S. Washington St. This free event will feature surprise appearances, live music, food, giveaways, kid activities and more, according to the department.

New Whiteland

The New Whiteland Police Department will be hosting a night of free family fun and community partnership from 5 to 8 p.m. at East Park, 300 Ballpark Drive, New Whiteland. Food trucks, demonstrations, face paint, community resources, raffles and a live DJ will be present. A blood drive will also take place, according to a flyer on the event.
