Franklin gets past Greenwood

Franklin earned a 4-1 triumph over Greenwood on Thursday. Reid Davidson and Nathan Neville won in the top two singles positions for the Grizzly Cubs (3-1, 1-0 Mid-State), who got a victory from Luke Sherry and Brady Tucker at first doubles and another from Ethan Barnes and Carsten Bland at No. 2. The lone point from the Woodmen (2-1, 1-1) came from Keegan Lane at third singles.

Grizzly Cubs sweep Olympians

Rose Mahin delivered 16 kills to lead Franklin to a 25-23, 25-7, 25-9 home sweep of Columbus East on Thursday evening. Karlin Burton had 27 assists and three aces for the Grizzly Cubs (2-0), while Maggie Doty and Kate Pinnick pulled up 12 digs apiece.

Trojans roll past Artesians

Center Grove swept its way past Martinsville, 25-14, 25-11, 25-18. The victory improved the Trojans to 3-1 on the season.

Edinburgh falls in three sets

Edinburgh lost to South Decatur in three sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-15. Kenna Streeval had six kills anad 30 digs for the Lancers.

Girls golf

Center Grove splits three-way

No. 11 Center Grove easily defeated Fishers but came up just short against ninth-ranked Carmel, 161-163, on Thursday at Plum Creek. Magnolia Miller paced the Trojans with a 38, followed by Amanda Wallace at 40 and both Zoe Land and Madisyn Bell at 41.

Whiteland suffers setback

Whiteland lost a 206-227 battle against Shelbyville at Bear Chase. Riley Luttman shot a 55 for the Warriors, with Brianna Humphress (56), Keira Gunn (57) and Layla Newport (59) rounding out the scoring.

Braves come up shy against Eagles

Indian Creek fell to Brown County, 210-241, at Salt Creek. Shelby Roach led the Braves in defeat with a 51, while Emily Hogue shot a 57.

Lancers compete in four-way match

Macie Blandford’s 49 was good for top individual honors as Edinburgh played against Oldenburg Academy, Hauser and Morristown. Oldenburg was the only one of the four teams to post a full team score.

Trojans blank Panthers

Class 3A No. 5 Center Grove kept its perfect start going with a 3-0 win at Bloomington South on Thursday. Owen Kalmas, Austin Lowden and Neikos Whitney each scored goals for the Trojans (3-0).

Warriors defeated by Quakers

Whiteland suffered a 4-0 loss against Mid-State Conference rival Plainfield, falling to 0-2-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.
