2 injured in Greenwood shooting, 1 in custody

Two people were injured in a shooting Friday night on Greenwood’s southeast side.

Greenwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Prairie Sky Lane on the report of a person shot just before 10:30 p.m. This is near the intersection of Worthsville Road and Sheek Road.

When first responders arrived, they found a man and woman with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. They were both taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment, where they are expected to survive their injuries, said Matt Fillenwarth, assistant chief of police.

One man has been arrested in connection with the shooting, Fillenwarth said.

Marcus Dewayne Mundy, 36, was arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder, battery committed with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Johnson County jail just before 4 a.m. Saturday, where remains held without bond, jail records show.
