Festival Country: Fall in Festival Country

The air is a little bit crisper. The leaves are a little bit brighter. Our downtowns are a little bit cozier.

Fall is finally in the air and we’re ready for all the breathtaking beauty and cherished traditions of the fall season. Experience the best of fall in the place that is more festive through some of these fun fall festivals and events:

Greenwood

Freedom Springs Aquatic Center is hosting their last event of the season for all the dog lovers: Puppy POOLooza. Puppy POOLooza welcomes dogs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 for a final summer pool party. Dogs under 30 pounds swim from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and dogs 30 pounds or larger swim from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Greenwood kicks off their fall concert series Sept. 21 with Milligan. The Sept. 28 concert will feature Blue River Band. All concerts will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at 100 Surina Way.

The SS Francis & Clare Fall Festival is coming to Greenwood from Sept. 26 to 28. There will be festival favorites like the Friday night fish fry, carnival rides provided by North American Midway Entertainment, raffles, silent auction, Monte Carlo tent and more. Other entertainment includes Taste Like Chicken from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 26, and Big Rosco and The Hammers from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. This event is at 5901 Olive Branch Road.

Final Fridays will be Sept. 27 where stores and restaurants in Old Town Greenwood will stay open late until 8 p.m. There will be live music, local artists, and other entertaining activities all night long.

The Greenwood Farmers Market is every Saturday through Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon at 525 N. Madison Ave.

Bargersville

Mallow Run Winery is winding down their Picnic Concert Series for the summer this month. Gone to Paradise will play at 7 p.m. Sept. 7. American English will play at 7 p.m. Sept. 14. Der Polkatz will play at 6 p.m. Sept. 21, all at 6964 W. Whiteland Road.

The annual Harvest Moon Fall Festival will be held Sept. 21 from noon to 10 p.m. in downtown Bargersville. There will be a car cruise-in from noon to 4:30 p.m., a petting zoo and craft vendors from noon to 5 p.m., food trucks from noon to 9 p.m., and a fun zone and live music by Groove Smash and Tastes Like Chicken from 5 to 9 p.m.

Bargersville Farmers Market is every Wednesday through Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 24 N. Main St.

Franklin

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is hosting their biggest event of the year, BizBash Business and Community Expo, which is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 12 at Garment Factory Events, 101 E. Wayne St.. The event is an opportunity to bring community and businesses together.

Franklin’s summer concert series is also winding down for the year with Hairbangers Ball Sept. 13, Corey Cox & Hank Ruff Sept. 27, and Jai Baker Band Sept. 28. All concerts will have an opening act, and the main acts start at 7 p.m. at the DriveHubler.com Amphitheater, 237 W. Monroe St.

The Franklin Fall Festival will take place Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Franklin. There will be vendors, food trucks, a parade, an outdoor concert and more.

Shop the Blocks will be Oct. 4 and will feature more than 25 local stores and restaurants that will stay open late until 8 p.m. in downtown Franklin. There will be live music, artists, and other fun activities.

Franklin Farmers Market is every Saturday through Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to noon at 237 W. Monroe St.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is holding their annual fall festival Sept. 11 to 14 from 5 to 11 p.m. on Main Street. There will be carnival rides, food trucks, games, vendors, live music and a parade.

Edinburgh Farmers Market is every Thursday through Sept. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 201 W. Main St.
