Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of September 10

The Mann Road bridge over Interstate 465 will close this weekend as work continues to finish the I-69 Finish Line project.

Mann Road over I-465 and the Thompson Road approach ramp to eastbound I-465 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work on Indianapolis’ southside. Drivers should seek an alternate route during the closure, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation update.

The southbound Mann Road detour follows State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue southwest to High School Road. Drivers should then turn south on High School Road, east on Thompson Road, south on Tincher Road and east on Epler Road to Mann Road, INDOT officials say.

As for northbound Mann Road, drivers should turn west on Epler Road, north on Tincher Road, west on Thompson Road, north on High School Road to State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue. They should then follow State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue northeast to Mann Road, according to INDOT.

Elsewhere on Interstate 465, nightly single-lane closures are expected at various locations on the eastbound and westbound lanes between Interstates 65 and 70 tonight through Friday. Closures and stoppages are expected between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. for bridge work and crew access to and from the construction site, INDOT officials say.

One lane will be restricted on southbound Interstate 69 between Southport Road and County Line Road tonight through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving as well.

Additionally, drivers are reminded the entrance and exit ramps on the east side of Harding Street at I-465 are closed. These closures are expected through mid-October for ramp reconstruction, according to INDOT.

The westbound I-465 exit ramp to Mann Road (Exit 7) will remain closed until early October for pavement reconstruction. Motorists needing to access Mann Road from westbound I-465 should exit at Kentucky Avenue/State Road 67 (Exit 8), officials say.

The southbound U.S. 31/East Street entrance ramp to westbound I-465 remains closed into late 2024 as well.

As for I-69, INDOT is reminding drivers that the speed limit along I-69 between State Road 144 and Fairview Road is now 55 mph in Johnson County.

However, in Johnson and Marion Counties, speed limits are still reduced throughout most of the I-69 Finish Line corridor. Drivers should follow all posted speed limits as construction work continues through the remainder of 2024, officials say.

All construction work is weather-dependent. More information can be found by going to i69finishline.com.
