Trojans rout Cougars

No. 8 Center Grove had four players break 40 in its 151-222 victory over Bloomington North at Hickory Stick on Wednesday. Magnolia Miller shot 36 and Amanda Wallace 37 for the Trojans, who also got matching rounds of 39 from Zoe Land and Olivia Alvey.

Braves edge Tigers

Indian Creek was a 224-230 winner against Triton Central at Tameka Woods. Emily Hogue led the Braves with a 51, followed by Shelby Roach (52) and Allison Vavul (56).

Warriors lose against Hawks

Whiteland was beaten by Decatur Central, 189-216. Riley Luttman paced the Warriors with a 50, with Layla Newport (54), Gracie Doyle (55) and Bri Humphress (57) rounding out the scoring.

Wenzel medals at Marion County tourney

Roncalli freshman Ava Wenzel shot a 78 and defeated Southport’s Claire Davis to claim the individual title at the Marion County tournament on Tuesday. The Royals finished fourth of 15 teams competing.

Woodmen fall to Flashes

Greenwood took a 4-1 loss against Franklin Central on Wednesday. The Woodmen (7-6) got their lone point from Carter Chatham at first singles.

Lancers swept by Jets

Edinburgh was defeated by Hauser, 5-0, despite Bailey Totten battling into a third set at No. 1 singles.

Football

Whiteland running free shuttle

Due to a shortage of available parking on the high school campus, Whiteland will run a free round-trip shuttle service for tonight’s game against Franklin. Fans can park at the CPCSC Transportation Center, located at 999 Front Street, and ride from there to the CPCSC Academy near the football stadium. Buses will run from 6 p.m. until kickoff and then again after the game.

Center Grove claims IHSAA award

Center Grove was one of 20 schools to be presented with the IHSAA Sportsmanship Award for the 2023-24 school year, the second time in a row and the third overall that the the school has earned the distinction.

”Our student leadership team worked hard to help us meet the requirements and we received great support from our coaches, families and fans,” athletic director Joe Bronkella said via press release.

Women’s soccer drops home match

Makenna Mundy made eight saves, but Franklin College couldn’t keep visiting Spalding off the scoreboard in a 2-0 loss on Wednesday. The Grizzlies fall to 0-3-2 on the season.
