EDINBURGH
Odell Burris, 83, of Edinburgh, passed away September 18, 2024. He was born October 26, 1940, in Columbia, Kentucky, to the late Cautis and Savannah Streeval Burris. Odell is survived by his sons, Chris (Amy) Burris, of Edinburgh, and David Burris; of Edinburgh; brothers Carlie Burris, of Edinburgh, and Billy (Patty) Burris, of Columbus; sister Peggy (James) Coffey, of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Ty Burris, Mahaley Mosley, Christopher Burris, Tyler Blankenship, Michael Hill, Heather Stout; great grandchildren, MaKyn Gibson, Benton Burris, Jayla Stout, Adam Stout, and Taylor Stout; long-time companion, Katie Gross; her children, Allen Burton, of Edinburgh, Lisa Burton, of Edinburgh, Denise Owens, of Edinburgh, and Miesha Lauderdale, of Edinburgh; and many of Katie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Burris; and sisters, Margie Harmon, Brenda Cooper, and Judy Burris; daughter-in-law, Karen Burris; and Katie’s daughter, Patricia Burton. Odell was beloved by all his family and friends and will be missed as the man of few words in their lives. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and watching sports with family as well as throwing horseshoes and cornhole and going to the races with his brothers. He was employed over 30 years at Golden Foundry, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Blue River Baptist Church in Edinburgh where visitation will be 3:00, Sunday, September 22, 2024. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2024, at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.
