College notebook: Lothe has record day in Indiana Wesleyan win

Indiana Wesleyan sophomore quarterback Arjun Lothe, a former player at Indian Creek, completed 20 of 29 pass attempts for a program-record 374 yards and five touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 69-0 shutout of host Olivet Nazarene.

Grace College men’s golfer Braxton Christie followed up his first-round score of 77 with an 82 to secure a tie for 20th place at the Rumble at the Rock. He then tied for 76th at the NAIA Midwest Shootout with a two-round score of 164.

Marian senior Luci Woodrum finished with a time of 26 minutes, 6.9 seconds as the Knights’ women’s cross country team placed 11th at the John McNichols Invite.

Center Grove

Marian men’s golf finished second at the NAIA Midwest Shootout, an effort that included senior Brandon Heffner coming in third with a 36-hole total of 143.

The University of Indianapolis men’s golf team hosted its invitational, with Drew Rowen placing 28th while the team finished sixth.

Sophomore Sage Parsetich helped Indiana Wesleyan tie for ninth at the Invite at Innisbrook, her scores of 76, 82 and 79 tying her for 49th among all players. Taylor freshman Abby Rich placed 54th to help her squad to an eighth-place finish.

Freshman Camille Short tied for runner-up status, carding a 78 and 75 to help lead the Grace College women’s golf team to the title at the nine-team Rumble at the Rock.

Senior Meg Fosnot carded scores of 87 and 84 to tie for 58th individually as Rose-Hulman’s women’s golf team finished 10th at the TPC Invitational.

Anderson University freshman Lyvia Salo ran a time of 29 minutes, 42.1 seconds to place 278th all as the Ravens’ women’s cross country team participated in the John McNichols Invitational. Indiana State sophomore Parker Mimbela finished 45th in the men’s race with a time of 26:17.5.

Senior defensive specialist Rylie McMahen completed play with totals of 40 digs, two assists and a service ace as Winthrop volleyball won one of three matches at the Bash in the ’Boro tournament.

Butler women’s volleyball went 0-3 at its own invitational with senior Grace Boggess finishing with totals of 15 kills and four digs.

Junior outside hitter Katie Egenolf had one kill in each match as Ball State posted victories over Butler and Wright State.

Quarterback Tayven Jackson completed 2 of 7 pass attempts for 30 yards as Indiana football improved to 4-0 with a 52-14 decision over visiting Charlotte.

Hillsdale College defensive back Matt Soderdahl had four tackles and broke up two passes in a 24-21 home loss to Ashland.

Ohio State scored a 49-14 win over visiting Marshall, with junior defensive end Caden Curry credited with a sack.

Receiver Owen Wright caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown for Franklin College in its 42-21 home loss against Adrian.

Franklin College men’s soccer dropped a pair of home matches, with senior goalkeeper Ian Rowe making four saves against Otterbein and nine against Alma.

Graduate forward Stephanie Brady produced the lone goal as UIndy women’s soccer scored a 1-0 triumph at Upper Iowa.

Vincennes University men’s golf finished fifth at the IU East Invitational. Freshman Kadin Gibson carded scores of 77 and 79 to place 21st individually.

Southern Indiana freshman Rylie Wilkison notched her first victory in collegiate tennis, winning the No. 6 singles consolation match at the OVC Fall Invitational.

Junior outside hitter Cami Kelsay totaled 29 kills, 15 digs and a pair of service aces as Jacksonville won two of three matches at its own invitational.

Greenwood

Hanover College junior runner Conner Watson placed 19th individually in 28:06.30 as the men’s cross country squad took seventh in the 10-team Olivet Nazarene Invitational.

Vincennes University freshman Ryan Mullins ran a time of 29:10 as the men’s cross country squad competed in the John McNichols Invitational.

Wabash College linebacker Gavin Ruppert recorded a team-high nine tackles in a 42-21 loss at Wisconsin-Platteville.

Joy Maze finished with six kills and three service aces for Manchester volleyball in a win over Albion, and followed with 18 kills and four digs in a defeat of Baldwin-Wallace.

Edinburgh

Riley Palmeter scored on a 33-yard pass reception for Marian football, which pulled out a 24-23 win at Lawrence Tech.

Greenwood Christian

Freshman kicker Charlie Overton’s four kickoffs averaged 43.5 yards for Franklin College in its 42-21 home loss to Adrian.

Roncalli

Senior defensive end Owen Volk (Greenwood) had two tackles for Wabash College football in its 42-21 loss at Wisconsin-Platteville.
