The Johnson County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday to talk about a request to rescind the burn ban.
The commissioners extended the burn ban on Sept. 23 for 30 days after the county was categorized as being in “abnormally dry” and “moderate drought” conditions, according to the county’s U.S. Drought Monitor.
The burn ban can be lifted with a two-thirds vote from the commissioners.
