Charlotte Janet Huber passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at the age of 89.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 12, 1935, Charlotte was the daughter of Thomas Bauerle and Fern Bauerle (Imel). She grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Saint Mary’s Academy.
Charlotte is survived by her children David Huber (Dorthea), Debra Gentry (Michael), Mark Huber (Myra), Timothy Huber (Teresa), and Christopher Huber. She is also survived by her brother Charles Bauerle, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her daughter Maria Huber, her parents, sister (Margie Curtiss) and brother (Billy Bauerle).
Charlotte was a custodian at school 35 for 3 years and at Manuel High School for 17 years. She was a breast cancer survivor. Charlotte enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, feeding hummingbirds, playing cards and bingo. She was a strong woman, a fearless single parent to six children, and a caring neighbor who always found a way to help out others.
A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2024, with a visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and service following at 1:00 pm. Visitation and service will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, located at 481 West Main St. Greenwood IN 46142. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation at komen.org/donate.
