Early voting starts today in Johnson County

Today is the official start of early voting in Johnson County.

Early in-person voting will take place at the Johnson County Courthouse each weekday through Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voting takes in the hall outside the Johnson County Clerk’s Office in the courthouse basement, 5 E. Jefferson St., Franklin.

Six other voting locations will open up starting Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Franklin Parks & Recreation Center, the John R. Drybread Community Center in Edinburgh and the Clark-Pleasant, Trafalgar, White River and Greenwood libraries.

Saturday voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 at the courthouse, Franklin Parks & Recreation Center, the John R. Drybread Community Center in Edinburgh and the Clark-Pleasant, Trafalgar, White River and Greenwood libraries.

Greenwood Village South Retirement Community will host a vote center 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28.

Otterbein SeniorLife will host a voter center 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29.

Compass Park will host a vote center 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 30.

The courthouse will also be open for voting from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 4.

Residents will be able to vote for several races, including school boards, the county council, county commissioners, state representatives in the House and Senate, U.S. Congress, Indiana Attorney General, Indiana Governor and U.S. president.

To vote, people need to be registered and bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.
