Applications for Indiana Statehouse internships due Oct. 31

Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are due Oct. 31.

In a joint statement, local lawmakers encouraged local college students and recent graduates to apply for spring semester internships at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The internship would take place during the legislative session, which starts in January and concludes in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.

The internships are open to all majors. The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy and communications.

Interns get free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university. Interns can also apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for undergraduate and graduate expenses.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.

Senate Republicans and Democrats in both chambers offer similar internship programs. Interested students can look up those caucuses online for more details on those opportunities.
