East leg of Earlywood and Graham roundabout opens in Franklin

The east leg of the Earlywood Drive and Graham Road roundabout opened Friday.

As the Earlywood Drive and Graham Road roundabout east leg opens, the contractor will close the intersection of the Graham Road/Graham Bypass on Monday for two weeks to complete reconstruction of that intersection, said Mark Richards, city engineer. Everything associated with the Graham Bypass project should be fully open by the end of this month, he said.

Costing around $2 million, the Earlywood Drive and Graham Road roundabout was partially funded with a Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative grant for $213,000. The new roundabout is the latest in a series of roundabouts allowing semi-trucks and industrial park traffic safe passage around downtown Franklin.
