Martha L. Napier

EDINBURGH

Martha Louise Brock Napier, 82, of Edinburgh, passed away October 16, 2024. She was born June 8, 1942, in Brown County, Indiana to the late Lloyd Clifford and Mary Martha Rude Brock. She married Eugene (Gene) Napier and they were together over 50 years before he passed on September 10, 2010. They enjoyed traveling to see family in other states and taking their boat across the ocean to the Bahamas. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Brock, and sister, Deborah Brock Clark. She is survived by her daughter Marcia (Randy) Schaefer, of Southport; her sons, Charles Napier, and Clifford (Susan) Napier, of Edinburgh; Grandchildren, Christopher (JoAnn Kinley) Schaefer, of Ohio, and Casey (John) Schaefer, of Indianapolis; and Great grandchildren, Randall, Chloe, Quinn, and Rorrik Schaefer; Brothers, Garland Brock, of Brown County, Wanda (Tracy) Riddle of Nineveh, Marvin (Barbara) Brock of Trafalgar, Bruce (Bobbi) Brock, of Brown County; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Martha loved spending time with her family and friends. She always called and checked on everyone. She especially loved it when everyone was together for holidays and family gatherings. She loved making things for her family and was always there to make or alter a dress or suit for anyone getting married, going to a dance or prom or any occasion. She was part of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Club in Franklin where she participated in quilting activities including for the benefit of the less fortunate. She and her late husband spent many hours making food and delivering lap quilts to veterans. She donated countless quilts to charities and fundraisers. During the Pandemic Martha and Marcia sewed thousands of masks to keep people safe. She loved going on quilting shop hops. She won several blue ribbons and championships for her quilting at both the Johnson County and Brown County fairs. She was a member of the Franklin Indiana American Legion and the Order of the Eastern Stars. She will be missed by many.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00, noon, Monday, October 21, at the “Who So Ever Will” Community Church in Edinburgh. The funeral service will be at the church at noon. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.
