College notebook: Egenolf helps lead BSU volleyball to road wins

Ball State junior volleyball player Katie Egenolf helped the Cardinals record victories at Ohio and Kent State. The former Center Grove outside hitter had 32 kills and 17 digs over the two matches combined.

Center Grove

Freshman Camille Short secured a top-10 finish individually with scores of 76, 81 and 82 as the Grace College women’s golf squad placed first at the NCCAA National Championships.

Butler volleyball picked up wins against Seton Hall and Georgetown, with senior middle blocker Grace Boggess contributing nine and three kills, respectively.

Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson completed 7 of 8 passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s 56-7 victory over visiting Nebraska. Jackson also carried the ball twice for 21 yards.

Franklin College receiver Owen Wright made nine catches for 136 yards in the Grizzlies’ 49-0 win against Manchester. The sophomore also returned three punts for 42 yards.

Hillsdale College junior defensive back Matt Soderdahl made three tackles and intercepted two passes in the team’s 28-10 win over Lake Erie.

Vincennes University freshman Rylan Mullins posted a time of 28:01.8 as the men’s cross country team competed in the Angel Mounds Invitational, an 8-kilometer event.

Greenwood

Junior Conner Watson placed 26th overall in a time of 26 minutes, 25.9 seconds as the Hanover men’s cross country team competed at the Jenna Strong Classic.

Wabash College junior linebacker Gavin Ruppert made four tackles in a 56-7 win over visiting Hiram College. Teammate Tanner Crouch, a freshman linebacker, had an interception.

Sophomore outside hitter Mya Ayro produced totals of 22 kills and four digs as Wright State volleyball split two five-set matches against Milwaukee.

Fifth-year senior Joy Maze had 10 kills and four blocks for Manchester volleyball in its 3-0 victory at Berea.

Whiteland

Ball State freshman Tori Jackson placed 41st in 23:05.4 as the women’s cross country team finished fifth at the Falcon Invite.

Indian Creek

Indiana Wesleyan quarterback Arjun Lothe was 3 of 5 through the air for 71 yards and a score in the Wildcats’ 56-7 defeat of visiting Taylor.

Franklin

Hanover College freshman volleyball player Brooklyn York finished with six kills, six digs and an assist in a five-set win over visiting Ohio Wesleyan.

Redshirt junior Cami Kelsay had nine digs and a kill for Jacksonville volleyball in its four-set win over Austin Peay, and four digs and three kills in three-set loss to Lipscomb.

Senior tight end Drew Byerly had a 5-yard reception for Marian football in its 45-40 triumph over Olivet Nazarene.

UIndy golfer Ava Ray helped the Greyhounds finish fourth of nine teams at The Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, with scores of 71, 75 and 76 to tie for sixth individually.

Edinburgh

Marian receiver Riley Palmeter made a catch for eight yards in the Knights’ 45-40 victory over Olivet Nazarene.

Greenwood Christian

Franklin College freshman Charlie Overton averaged 46.6 yards on his eight kickoffs in the football team’s 49-0 victory at Manchester.

Roncalli

Senior defensive end Owen Volk (Greenwood) made two tackles for Wabash College in its 56-7 victory over Hiram.
