INDIANAPOLIS
David Mitchell Clark, 73, of Indianapolis, IN went home to be with the Lord and family, peacefully on October 24, 2024.
David was born to Thomas Mitchell Clark and June Elizabeth (Loesch) Clark on May 2, 1951, in Evansville, Indiana. He was the first of their eight children.
David was a curious child who loved to tinker with anything mechanical. His mom often told of how he took a transistor radio apart shortly after getting one as a preschooler to see how it worked. He loved ham radio at an early age and was one of the youngest people in Indiana to receive his ham radio operator’s license. As a teenager, he worked at WFIE, and he played piano particularly well.
After graduating from FJ Reitz in 1969, David joined the US Air Force where he remained for a decade serving in Taiwan, England, and stateside. He used his love of and his skill in electronics and computers to work in the private sector until he retired in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 1 sister and several aunts and uncles.
David is survived by his 8 children: Andrew, George, Lisa, Laura, Thomas, Rebecca, David Matthew, and Amy Clark. Along with his 10 grandchildren whom he found joy in: Sidnee, Kylee, Aubree, Chase, Brayden, Kiana, Ariyanna, Xavier, Kameron, and Kai. Additionally, he is also survived by 7 siblings: George B. Clark, Dana Holder, Melanie Liekhus, Lowell Clark, Richard Clark, and Elizabeth Carnahan; aunt, Dorris (Taylor) Loesch and uncle, Daniel Loesch; twenty-two first cousins; and fifteen nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for David will occur at Jessen Funeral Home located at 729 US 31 South Whiteland, IN 46184 on November 1, 2024. Visitation is from 11-1 pm with a brief service to follow.
For anyone that is unable to travel to the Indianapolis area but wish to express their condolences, a second gathering will be held at Westminster Church located at 3027 Mt. Vernon Avenue in Evansville, IN, on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, from 1-3 pm.
