Edwin Maxwell “Max” Fraley

<p>Edwin Maxwell “Max” Fraley, 89, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.</p>
<p>He was born April 30, 1927, in Marion County to William and Juno (Ferguson) Fraley.</p>
<p>Max married Jeanie Frances (Uhles) on Aug. 4, 1956. She lovingly survives.</p>
<p>He also is survived his children, Charlotte Harmon of Edinburgh, Linda (Jerry) Lingenfelter of Fairland and James (Angie) Fraley of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Bill (Mary) Harmon, Eddie (Bonnie) Harmon, Jennifer (Tiffany) Foster, Katie Lingenfelter, Ben Fraley, Jaron Fraley and Tony (Lynnsey) Beasley; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Also surviving is one sister, Marcia Fraley of Indianapolis; and nephew, Bill Fraley of Indianapolis. He also is survived by several other nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Billy Harmon; and siblings, John B., Delores V., Frances G., Aria E. and Paul Robert.</p>
<p>He was a 1946 graduate of Southport High School.</p>
<p>Max enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later was drafted into the U.S. Army.</p>
<p>He was employed by Allison’s in Indianapolis for 37½ years, retiring in 1990.</p>
<p>Max was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 22 years.</p>
<p>He loved camping, fishing, gardening, reading and spending time with his children and grandchildren.</p>
<p>The Revs. Ted Cole and James Fraley will conduct a celebration of Max’s life at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin with military honors.</p>
