Trees down after evening storm

Several trees were blown down when storms moved through Johnson County on Wednesday night.

Motorists called police to report downed trees blocking roads from Hopewell to Greenwood.

And on Center Street in Franklin, a tree fell onto two cars and a home, causing damage, but no injuries.

The damage is pretty typical for a summer storm, emergency management director Stephanie Sichting said.

More than one storm came through the county Wednesday night, bringing strong winds and heavy rain, she said.

Winds knocked down trees and some power lines. But by Thursday morning, power was restored to nearly all county residents, according to local utilities.
