<p>INDIANAPOLIS</p>
<p>Nora Ellen Harmon, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at her residence.</p>
<p>She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Joseph A. and Bernice (Herod) Goble.</p>
<p>On April 13, 1946, she married Walter S. Harmon, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2011.</p>
<p>Ellen is survived by her daughters, Joyce Harmon, and Lynette Rikard and husband, William, both of Indianapolis, and Jill McFall and partner, Rick, of Brownsburg; granddaughter, Charlotte Swanson and husband, Jason; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Benjamin Swanson.</p>
<p>She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Larry W. Goble, Wilbur Goble and Robert Goble.</p>
<p>Ellen graduated from Waldron High School in 1939 and attended Indiana Business College.</p>
<p>She was a member and former deaconess at Rocklane Christian Church.</p>
<p>Ellen formerly worked at Hugh J. Baker Co., Smith Douglas and at N.K. Hurst Co. for 15 years.</p>
<p>She enjoyed watching sports. Her favorite professional teams were the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. She was also a fan of collegiate basketball, and enjoyed watching Indiana, Purdue and Butler universities.</p>
<p>Ellen liked to garden.</p>
<p>She and Walter were avid walkers at the Greenwood Park Mall.</p>
<p>Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.</p>
