Center Grove Fall Show

Revisit a classic at Center Grove High School’s fall play this month.

Thespians will be performing “Guys and Dolls” at the school, 2717 S. Morgantown Road, Greenwood.

Director Kathleen Kersey tells you what you need to know about the show.

» When is the show?

7:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 19 and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 20.

» How much are tickets?

$10 and $8 depending on seating. You can can get tickets online through cgtheatre.org.

» Why did you choose this show?

I like it. It is a fun show, it is pretty energetic and it is kind of a classic.

» What is your favorite scene to direct?

“Sit Down.” It’s a really upbeat number and has the whole cast in it. It is a lot of fun.

» Why should families come and see the show?

It is family appropriate, again, there is a lot of high energy (numbers) and a lot of dancing. There are a few spots young kids might not understand. It should be good for ages 10 and older.

» How are students getting into character?

They are amazing. They have taken this show by the horns and have run with it. They go out and practice on their own and meet. I’m talking about the leads mainly. They are like sponges, they want it so badly. They want it to be good. These kids are so special.

» What do you want audiences to get from the show?

Entertainment and and to see how talented these kids are. It is amazing. I hope they understand what hard work these kids are putting into it. You can’t throw a show together, it has many levels. It is an ongoing process and is huge.
