<p>INDIANAPOLIS</p>
<p>John E. Wampler, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016.</p>
<p>He was born on May 10, 1926, in Indianapolis to the late Earl and Marie (Davis) Wampler.</p>
<p>He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, past president of the Murat Shrine RV Club, and was a member of the Southport Lodge No. 270 F.&A.M. He worked at the Indianapolis Federal Building as a maintenance mechanic foreman.</p>
<p>John graduated from Southport High School in 1944, joined the Air Force and proudly served his country in World War II. In 1948 he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Susemichel and she preceded him in death in 2010. He loved spending time with his friends and family.</p>
<p>Survivors include his children, Debbie (Dennis) Copenhaver, Ron Wampler, Sandy (Bob) Kazmierzak; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Copenhaver, Brent (Jamie) Copenhaver, Nicole (Michael) Coffey, Ryan (Kristen) Wampler, Jenna (Chad) Dale, Kyle (Avin) Kazmierzak and Ross (Dana) Kazmierzak; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kailey, Allie, Ella Copenhaver, Tyler and Dallas Copenhaver, Lyla and Hadley Coffey, Audrey and Mark Wampler and Andi Kazmierzak.</p>
<p>John was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wampler and granddaughter, Lori Kazmierzak.</p>
<p>Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis with a funeral service to be conducted at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Hospice House.</p>
