Marlene (Whitaker) Kelly

<p>Marlene (Whitaker) Kelly, 75, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 28, 2016 at her residence in Franklin.</p>
<p>She was born on April 3, 1941, in Franklin to Hubert E. and Wilma L. “Bill” (Vandivier) Whitaker.</p>
<p>She married Phillip Kelly on Sept. 7, 1963. He lovingly survives. Other survivors include their children, Susan (Greg) Griner and Phillip (Lynn) Kelly, all of Franklin. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ramzi Shoumali, McKenzie Griner, Kacie Miller, and Katelyn Kelly; and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>She was preceded in passing by her parents; and two brothers, Richard “Dick” Whitaker and John Whitaker.</p>
<p>Marlene was a 1960 graduate of Franklin Community High School.</p>
<p>She was employed by the Franklin Community School Corporation at the high school as a baker, retiring after more than 20 years of dedicated service.</p>
<p>She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Franklin and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and sunbathing. She truly loved going out to eat on Sundays with her brother-in-law and sister-in-laws.</p>
<p>A celebration of Marlene’s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Rev. Larry McAdams will be minister. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.</p>
