Edward C. Burgett

<p>SHELBY COUNTY</p>
<p>Edward C. Burgett, 76, of Shelby County, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.</p>
<p>He was born June 2, 1940, in Indianapolis.</p>
<p>He was the son of Charles R. and Evelyn (Harding) Burgett.</p>
<p>He married Juanita (Sterling) Burgett on June 25, 1962.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife; a son, Edward C. Burgett II of Franklin; daughters, Jody (David) Phillips of Edinburgh and Melonie Burgett (Chris Cecil) of Shelbyville; brother, James (Sandy) Burgett of Plainfield; sister, Shirley Staley (Bill Ellis) of Green Castle; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deanna Burgett; a brother, Norman Burgett; and sisters, Helen Hanner and Mary Ethel Burgett.</p>
<p>He was a member the Broke Bunch Car Club.</p>
<p>He retired from Arvin in Franklin as a professional welder.</p>
<p>A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever- Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Shelby County.</p>
