Lowell Dean Faris

<p>Lowell Dean Faris, 84, of Greenwood went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, Dec. 2, 2016.</p>
<p>Dean was born March 9, 1932, in Bedford to Ernest L. and Nola A (Root) Faris. He married Anna Gilstrap on June 30, 1957. They were married for 59 years.</p>
<p>He joined the Navy in 1951, where he served for for three years, 11 months and 29 days. He was hired by Naval Avionics in 1955, where he worked for 32 years. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, bowling, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and IU basketball. He was a member of Smith Valley Baptist Church and a member of Center Grove Optimist Club.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother, Donald J. Faris.</p>
<p>He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Faris; brother, Oran Faris; sisters, Carol Wagner and Vicky Judah.</p>
<p>He was a devoted father and grandfather to his four children; Jeffrey (Janice) Faris, Dana Averitt, Brad (Erleen) Faris, Deanna (Richard) Smith; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with his fifth expected in May.</p>
<p>A celebration of Dean’s life will at 10 a.m. today at Smith Valley Baptist Church, 4682 West Smith Valley Road, Greenwood, with friends welcome to call starting at 9 a.m.</p>
