Man arrested on domestic battery charge

An Edinburgh man was arrested after police said he choked his girlfriend and threw a glass bottle at her head.

Nicholas Brock, 23, was arrested Sunday morning on charges of domestic battery, battery, battery on law enforcement, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and interfering with the reporting of a crime, according to the police report.

When Brock returned to the house he and his girlfriend shared in the 400 block of North Franklin Street in Edinburgh at 4 a.m. Sunday morning, he and his girlfriend argued, and she asked him to leave, the report said.

Brock then grabbed his girlfriend in a choke hold and wrestled her to the floor. When she attempted to call 911, he took away her phone. As she was leaving the house, he threw a glass bottle which struck her in the head and caused her to bleed, the report said.

Brock fought with and kicked and kneed the two officers, the affidavit said.

Brock, whose address was unavailable, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. He was held on $7,600 bond.
