A resident came home to find her front door kicked in, her home rummaged through and jewelry stolen, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
The burglary was in a neighborhood off Fairview Road in the Center Grove area Thursday, the report said.
The owner of the home on San Carlos Drive had left just before 11 a.m. Thursday and came home at 3:45 p.m. and saw her front door kicked in and her safe removed from a closet. Her dresser drawers had been rummaged through and the burglar or burglars had stolen four jewelry boxes, the report said.
Detectives are investigating and have gathered evidence, including possible DNA evidence left behind by the suspect or suspects, the report said.
