<strong>Trojans remain unbeaten</strong>

Alexis Rudd pitched up the pitching win and added a home run as Center Grove topped Martinsville 11-4 on Monday.

The Class 4A No. 3 Trojans (7-0) also got homers from Abby Herbst, Lexi Fair and Kaci Finchum.

<strong>Cougars stage late rally</strong>

Alexis Mead’s two-run homer keyed a four-run sixth inning that allowed Greenwood Christian to come back for a 7-5 win against University High School on Monday.

The Cougars (3-1) prevailed despite managing just three hits on the day. Morgan Haynes and Avery Shingleton added doubles for Greenwood Christian.

<strong>Grizzly Cubs win opener</strong>

Franklin opened its 2018 season with a 5-0 sweep of Indian Creek on Monday afternoon.

Kate Heuchan, Alexa Wilkison and Jaclyn Boardman claimed the three singles points for the Grizzly Cubs. Daryn Hyneman and Abi Smith rolled to victory at No. 1 doubles, while Haylie Rayl and Allison Bennett won at No. 2.

<strong>Lancers fall to Owls</strong>

Edinburgh took a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Seymour on Monday afternoon. Haley Jones came the closest to getting the Lancers on the board, taking a 6-3, 6-3 loss at No. 1 singles.

<strong>Men’s golf team wins again</strong>

Franklin College won its second consecutive tournament over the weekend, closing out a victory at the Hanover Spring Invite on Sunday.

The Grizzlies finished with a team score of 617, just one stroke up on the host team. Jackson Williams led the way for Franklin with a 150, good for fourth overall individually, while Aubrey Seaman (153) and Spencer Portish (155) also finished in the top 10.

<strong>Baseball squad splits pair</strong>

Sam Claycamp had seven hits, including a home run, and drove in eight runs to lead Franklin College to a doubleheader split at Bluffton on Sunday.

The Grizzlies (20-2, 5-1 HCAC) dominated the opener, coasting to a 13-4 win, before the host Beavers bounced back to win the second game, 6-5. Franklin had the bases loaded in the ninth inning but couldn’t push another run across.

<strong>Grizzlies earn sweep in softball</strong>

Olivia Paszek had her no-hit bid broken up in the seventh inning but still improved her record to 10-0 in Franklin College’s 4-1 win against Manchester on Sunday.

The Spartans handed the Grizzlies (16-4, 3-1 HCAC) their first conference loss on the back end of the doubleheader, holding on for a 5-3 victory.

FUNDRAISER

<strong>Edinburgh baseball hosting dinner</strong>

The Edinburgh baseball program will be hosting the Red &amp; Black Fundraiser and silent auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The event will take place in the high school cafeteria.

The $10 entry fee includes dinner, the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker, the option to bid on silent auction bundles and a chance to win raffles while coming together to support Edinburgh athletics. Lancer baseball players are currently selling tickets.

Dinner, which will be served at 6:30, includes turkey and baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, mac &amp; cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, rolls and garden salad as well as dessert and drinks.
