Grizzly Cubs win title
Logen Devenport hit an eighth-inning home run, his second game-winning shot in as many days, to lift Franklin to a 2-1 victory at Decatur Central on Wednesday. The win, coupled with Whiteland’s sweep of Mooresville this week, helped the Grizzly Cubs (19-7, 12-2) clinch the outright Mid-State Conference championship. Drew Doty also homered in the win and pitched four strong relief innings.
Trojans claim MIC crown
Blake Seslar hit two home runs and Zach Ferguson added a homer and four RBIs as Center Grove rolled past Pike, 11-1, to lock up sole possession of first place in the final MIC standings. Charlie Bemis picked up the win for the Trojans (24-3, 13-1), with Dylan Alting chipping in two innings of hitless relief.
Warriors sweep Pioneers
Nick Dwenger went 3 for 3 with four RBIs and Quinn Warweg homered as Whiteland capped a home-and-home sweep of Mooresville with a 9-3 triumph. Drew Helton got the win for the Warriors (8-12, 6-8 Mid-State), scattering three hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Cougars hammer Waldron
Garrett Wright knocked in three runs and Jake Potter drove in two to help Greenwood Christian to a 12-1 triumph at Waldron. Micah Vessely and Trey Harney split the pitching duties for the Cougars (10-11).
Woodmen fall short
Greenwood took a 4-1 loss at Plainfield. Matthew Jobe scored the lone run for the Woodmen (3-18, 2-12 Mid-State).

Grizzly Cubs top Quakers
Damon Dickey had the low round of the day with a 35 to lead Franklin past Plainfield, 160-170, at Hillview. Rounding out the scoring for the Grizzly Cubs were Nate Blackwell with a 40, Ian McCullough a 42 and Quin Edwards and Luke Bechert with 43s.
Braves coast past Eagles
Braxton Christie shot a 38 and Clark Haywood added a 41 as Indian Creek easily defeated Brown County, 176-243, at Salt Creek. The Braves are 7-4 on the season.
