College update – January 6

<p>Lipscomb point guard <strong>Lauren Rau</strong> is making the most of her sophomore season, leading her team in free-throw accuracy (.806) and ranking second in assists and steals.</p>
<p>The former Center Grove player fared well in her team’s 92-82 loss at Vanderbilt with 12 points and nine assists. She followed that up with eight points, four rebounds and three assists in a win against Alabama A&amp;M.</p>
<p>CENTER GROVE</p>
<p><strong>Regan Wentland</strong> scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds for Indiana State in a 77-63 women’s basketball loss to Missouri State. In the Sycamores’ loss to Southern Illinois, she scored eight points to go along with three boards.</p>
<p>DePauw’s 84-51 victory at Ohio Wesleyan in women’s basketball included four points and a rebound off the bench for Tiger freshman guard <strong>Emma LeMasters.</strong> Prior to that, LeMasters scored five points in a win against John Carroll.</p>
<p><strong>Jessica Norris</strong>, a junior guard at Holy Cross College, had 16 points and four assists to help lead her squad to a 61-60 triumph against Indiana Wesleyan. She finished with three points, four boards and four assists in a loss at Concordia.</p>
<p>Freshman guard <strong>Allison Utterback</strong> scored three points to help Lewis down Saginaw Valley, 74-45.</p>
<p>Army senior linebacker <strong>Alex Auker</strong><strong>man</strong> finished his final college football game with two tackles, including one for loss, and his first interception in a 42-35 bowl win against San Diego State.</p>
<p>Stanford defensive tackle <strong>Jovan Swann</strong> had two tackles in the Cardinal’s 39-37 loss to TCU in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.</p>
<p>INDIAN CREEK</p>
<p>Junior guard <strong>Dylan Phair</strong> produced six points, four rebounds and a steal as Indiana Tech downed Indiana Wesleyan, 88-84, in men’s basketball. He followed with five points in both a loss to Saginaw Valley State and a 71-61 win over Lawrence Tech (Michigan).</p>
<p>Cincinnati Christian freshman guard <strong>Tim Abel</strong> started his new year off right with seven points in a 92-82 win at Point Park (Pa.). He also ended 2017 strong by scoring 10 in an 86-79 loss to Northwestern Ohio.</p>
<p>GREENWOOD</p>
<p>Guard <strong>Jae Taft</strong> had five points for Olivet Nazarene women’s basketball in its loss to Dakota Wesleyan. The sophomore also was credited with two assists, a rebound and a steal. In a 113-108 loss to Arizona Christian, Taft supplied four points and a steal.</p>
<p>IUPUI sophomore point guard <strong>Holly Hoopingarner</strong> had 11 points, five assists and two steals in the Jaguars’ 82-46 victory at Illinois-Chicago.</p>
<p>WHITELAND</p>
<p>St. Francis women’s basketball defeated Madonna, 67-52, with <strong>Sidney Crowe</strong> scoring 14 points and corralling three rebounds. She finished with 10 points, three boards and an assist in a 60-55 victory against Grace College.</p>
<p>Indiana Tech’s <strong>Kate White</strong> came off the bench to play three minutes in her team’s 81-53 win against West Virginia Tech.</p>
