INDIANAPOLIS
Bruce W. Carey 70 of Indianapolis, IN passed away Wednesday May 19, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.
He was born June 30, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio to Alfred William Carey Jr. and Gladys Benjamina (Navis) Carey. He married Ruth Ann (Hatlas) Carey on November 28, 1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she survives.
He was a 1969 graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, IN and received his associates degree in business from Vincennes University.
He had worked in the receiving area of the Target warehouse in Indianapolis, IN for 33 years.
Bruce enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading, stamp collecting, trains and classical music. He was a volunteer for Perry Senior Services in Perry Township, Marion County in assisting people, delivering meals and transporting those to their appointments.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann (Hatlas) Carey of Indianapolis, IN, two brothers Keith D. Carey (Cathy) of Indianapolis, IN and David M. Carey (Elizabeth) of Bend, OR and one niece Dorothy Faye Carey of Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pastor Seth Amerine will conduct a celebration of life service on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with a time of gathering and visitation from 5PM until service time.
