Royals retain sectional crown
Katrina Gangstad and Elsie Kerr picked up the clinching point at second doubles as Roncalli defended its sectional title with a 3-2 win over Franklin Central on Friday. Claire Wagner and Rebecca Zakrowski were victorious at first and second singles for the Royals, who will play Triton Central in a regional semifinal at Center Grove on Tuesday.

Lancers rout Mohawks
Edinburgh used an eight-run second inning to pull away for a 12-1 home win over Waldron on Friday. Kyah Streeval, Kaitlyn Bailey and Morgan Calhoun each had two RBIs for the Lancers (13-10), while Catey Streeval finished with three hits. Pitchers MacKenzie Bieker and Gracie Crawhorn combined on a one-hitter.
The two teams will meet again in a first-round sectional game on Monday.
