Local show choirs placed in the top of their classes at a weekend competition.
The Debtones of Center Grove High School won grand champion in the Unisex Division, and the school’s mixed choir, Sound System, earned first runner up in the mixed division at Fishers High School.
The Debtones collected awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography and Best Instrumental. Sound System received awards for Best Vocals and Best Instrumental.
The Sensations women’s show choir at Franklin Community High School placed fifth at Fishers High School and the Heritage Singers Show Choir placed fourth.
Franklin students also swept the solo competition. Jaxson Deno was named grand champion, Erin Jones placed second and Ellie Bennett took third at the solo competition.
