Man charged with dealing heroin

A Franklin man has been charged with dealing heroin.

Robert William Lynn, 62, of 1897 Crescent St., was charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony. He is also known as Gilbert Lynn or Gil Lynn, court records said.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after learning that Lynn likely was involved in selling heroin, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Sheriff’s office detectives gathered information about a drug deal during which Lynn sold $80 worth of heroin and discussed needles, drug testing and selling pills at a later date.

Lynn has a lengthy criminal history, and his residence has been involved in previous search warrants and drug deals, according to the court documents.

He was arrested on a warrant Friday night and taken to the Johnson County jail. He posted bond and was released Saturday.
