Showcasing talent: Artist’s work being put on display in Greenwood

Art lovers can take in the work of a Hoosier artist at the Southside Art League’s April show.

Alice Harpel’s impressionist art will be at the Southside Art League, 299 E. Broadway St., Greenwood during normal hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Her work will be displayed April 4 to 28.

An open house is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. April 13, where guests can have light refreshments while meeting the artist.

Harpel is a resident of Crawfordsville. She has a BA in sociology from the University of Dayton, a master’s in education from Purdue University, and a doctorate in educational administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Upon retirement, she quickly returned to her lifelong passion of art. Her artworks have vibrant colors and traditional uncomplicated imagery of local scenery, parks, and farmers markets.
