Unemployment dropped in March

<p>The county’s unemployment rate dropped from February and is also lower than the same time last year.</p>
<p>In March, the unemployment rate in Johnson County was 2.7 percent, with about 2,220 people out of work, according to data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.</p>
<p>The rate is down from February, when the county’s unemployment rate was 3.1 percent. The number has also dropped from the same time last year, when 3.1 percent of workers — or nearly 2,500 people — were unemployed, according to the state data.</p>
<p>Statewide, the March unemployment rate remained the same as February at 3.2 percent. Last year the unemployment rate was 3.6 percent in March, according to state data.</p>
