<p>Baseball</p>
<p><strong>Whiteland falls to Shelbyville</strong></p>
<p>Despite fighting back with a five-run fifth inning to get within two runs, Whiteland suffered a 12-6 defeat against Shelbyville on Monday.</p>
<p>Chase Bennett had three hits and two RBIs for the Warriors (12-10), while Nick Carrizales also knocked in a pair of runs.</p>

<p><strong>Warriors sweep Braves</strong></p>
<p>Whiteland dominated Indian Creek in posting a 5-0 victory on Monday. Reese Johnson, Haley Darling and Sophie Venter claimed the three singles points for the Warriors (12-4).</p>
<p>Sarah Scott and Bri Harwell were victorious at No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 team of Hannah Blum and Riley Burnside was also a winner.</p>
<p><strong>Trojans fall to Irish</strong></p>
<p>A straight-sets victory from Jillian Garrett at No. 3 singles was the only point that sixth-ranked Center Grove could muster in a 4-1 loss to No. 2 Cathedral on Monday.</p>

<p><strong>Grizzly Cubs top Woodmen</strong></p>
<p>Javan Johnson and Matt Jordan shot 37 and 38, respectively, as No. 18 Franklin coasted past Greenwood on Monday, 154 to 205. Quin Edwards and Barrett Daily each added a 39 for the Grizzly Cubs.</p>
<p><strong>Trojans handle Pioneers</strong></p>
<p>Bryant Simulia led the way with a 37 as top-ranked Center Grove defeated Mooresville in a dual match on Monday, 154 to 172.</p>
<p><strong>Lancers drop three-way</strong></p>
<p>Bladen Hancock was the medalist with a round of 43, but Edinburgh finished third in a match with North Decatur and Hauser on Monday at Clifty Creek.</p>

<p><strong>Indiana All-Star ticket info released</strong></p>
<p>Ticket information has been released for early June games involving the Indiana All-Stars and Junior All-Stars.</p>
<p>On June 3, the Indiana Junior All-Stars and Kentucky Junior All-Stars will play at Ben Davis High School, with the girls tipping off at 2 p.m. and the boys to follow. Tickets are $6 at the door.</p>
<p>The Junior-Senior All-Star games will be at New Albany High School. The girls start at 6 p.m. with boys to follow. Admission is $6 at the door, but the games are expected to sell out. A one-night presale will be held Wednesday at the New Albany gym, starting at 6 p.m.</p>
<p>The Indiana All-Stars play Kentucky in Knights Hall at Bellarmine University in Louisville on June 8; the girls tip at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. Tickets are $15 and available in advance at <a href="http://kyallstars.eventbrite.com">http://kyallstars.eventbrite.com</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Nine Warriors sign college letters</strong></p>
<p>A group of Whiteland students signed letters of intent to continue their athletic pursuits at Division III universities.</p>
<p>Four of the nine signees — Cam Lilly, Austin Cook, Garrett Curtis and Cameron Ciampa — will be playing football at Thomas More. Matt Luechtefeld signed to play football at Anderson, while Cameron Johnson will play at Trine.</p>
<p>Also signing were Tori Pierson (Spalding University women’s soccer), Lindsey Boltz (Hope College softball), Addison Csikos (Franklin College softball) and Nick Carrizales (Earlham baseball).</p>

<p><strong>Softball earns first NCAA bid</strong></p>
<p>After claiming the HCAC tournament title on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Transylvania, Franklin College celebrated its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament bracket on Monday afternoon</p>
<p>The Grizzlies (29-10) will play in a double-elimination regional at Holland, Michigan, beginning with an opening-round game against Calvin College (30-8). The Knights are making their first NCAA trip in 20 years.</p>
