<p>A Franklin man is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on State Road 37.</p>
<p>Christopher Figg, 36, was riding a motorcycle north on State Road 37 near Bluff Acres Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday. A driver ahead of him, Mercadies Schommer, 24, of Evansville, moved into the left lane and slowed to make a turn, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.</p>
<p>Witnesses told police they saw Figg lose control of the motorcycle and hit Schommer’s car, the report said.</p>
<p>Schommer told police that she had moved into the left lane and slowed down in preparation for a left turn. When she saw the motorcyclist coming behind her, she tried to pull off into the grass, the report said.</p>
<p>Figg wasn’t wearing a helmet. He was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital for treatment of severe bleeding.</p>
<p>He was listed in critical condition as of Monday morning, a hospital spokesperson said.</p>
