<p><strong>Woodmen split three-way</strong></p>
<p>Maecee Terhune shared medalist honors with a 43, enabling Greenwood to finish second in a very tight three-team match on Thursday.</p>
<p>Maura Guilfoy added a 47 for the Woodmen, whose total of 190 left them two shots behind Perry Meridian and one ahead of Mooresville.</p>
<p><strong>Warriors beaten by Martinsville</strong></p>
<p>Whiteland lost to 13th-ranked Martinsville on Thursday, 159 to 184, at The Legends. Bri Harwell paced the Warriors with a 43.</p>
<p>Allie Watson added a 45 in defeat, while Lucy Gearhart and Kierra Mitchell each shot 48.</p>
<p><strong>Lancers fall just short</strong></p>
<p>Edinburgh was edged by Southwestern (Shelbyville) on Thursday, 237 to 240, at Timbergate. Morgan Calhoun paced the Lancers with a 50.</p>

<p><strong>Football picked to win HCAC again</strong></p>
<p>Despite having to replace 16 starters, including three all-conference picks, Franklin College was voted as the favorite to win the HCAC championship by the league’s coaches.</p>
<p>The Grizzlies, who went 8-3 last year and ran the table in the conference, are the preseason pick for the eighth consecutive year. They received six of the nine first-place votes, with Rose-Hulman picking up the other three.</p>
