Beloved father and grandfather, Stephen Dale Van-Scyoc, 76, of Edinburgh, IN passed away at home September 30, 2018 at 12:38 p.m. He was born August 17, 1942 in Shelby County. He was the son of Poppy and Mimi Van-Scyoc.
</p>
<p>
Stephen married Diana Kay (Giles) Van-Scyoc on January 1, 1977. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Mike) Sullivan of Marietta, IN, Amy (Carl) Walton of Shelby County, and Melissa (Paul) Durbin of Edinburgh, IN; his son, Jeff (Sherri) Hadley of Edinburgh, IN; his sister, Cheryl Diehl of Franklin, IN; grandchildren, Cortnee (Tim) Hancock, Matt Durbin, Whitney (Devin) Thomas, Meghann Whitlow, Jeremy Hadley, Colin (Olivia) Sullivan, Devon Robinson, Dylan Durbin, Blake Durbin, McKenzie Hadley, Morgan (Christian) Wade, and Abigail Hadley; great-grandchildren, Caydenn, Lyla, Karter, Annabelle, Claire, Riley, Graham, KayAnna, Jayden, Mia, Gunner, Adeline, and Ma’Kenna.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Betty Sexton and Joann Mason.
</p>
<p>
Mr. Van-Scyoc graduated in 1960 from Southwestern High School. He went on to study at Franklin College and attended the University of Kentucky. He worked most of his life as a construction foreman, spending several years in West Palm Beach working for Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. He also worked in Sarasota, Florida as a ranch and rodeo hand. He loved hunting, and fishing, especially on Lake Okeechobee. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, going mushroom hunting and writing poems.

Grave side services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018.
</p>
<p>
Anyone wanting to send flowers may send them to Rest Haven Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Stephen’s honor to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Rd., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
