<p><strong>EDINBURGH NIGHTMARE THEATER</strong>, “The Shining,” 7 p.m. Oct. 26, Pixy Theatre, 111 S. Walnut St., Edinburgh. $5.</p><p>“Here’s Johnny!”</p><p>The Pixy Theatre in Edinburgh is showing a classic horror movie based on a Stephen King novel. “The Shining” is sure to send chills down the spines of viewers seeing in a theater setting.</p><p>The movie follows an author and his family, who become the winter caretakers of a hotel in Colorado. They find the dark secrets of the hotel where they have agreed to spend the season.</p><p>The movie is rated R, so kiddos should stay at home.</p><p>GPL SPOOKTACULAR, noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 27, Greenwood library, 310 S. Meridian St. Free community Halloween party. Events include trick-or-treating, crafts and a mad scientist lab for the kids, as well as a Harry Potter movie marathon. Costumes are encouraged.</p><p>Everything Halloween will be at an early community Halloween party this weekend.</p><p>Harry Potter fans, candy fans and science fans will all get something they love to get in the spirit of the season at the GPL Spooktacular.</p><p>Hundreds of people attended this inaugural family-friendly Halloween party last year. Organizers are expecting just as many this year.</p><p>Youngsters and adults alike should dig out their Halloween costumes. Kids will get to trick or treat.</p>
