Franklin will be transformed into Halloween Town this weekend

<p>ranklin will be celebrating everything Halloween this weekend.</p><p>The town is transforming into Halloween Town.</p><p>Residents will be able make their way through a haunted cabin, dress up their pet in a Halloween costume and trick or treat at downtown businesses and at a Trunk or Treat event planned downtown. Downtown businesses have been decked out with themed skeletons.</p><p>The Franklin branch of the Johnson County Public Library is hosting a Frankenstein themed party, including a read-along session of Mary Shelley’s famous book with the same name.</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]<p>Here is a complete list of what is planned this weekend at Halloween Town:</p><p>» 9 a.m.: Pumpkins in the Park 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile family fun walk, registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Franklin Recreation Center, 396 Branigin Blvd. Cost is $20 for the 5K, $2 for the family fun walk.</p><p>» 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Hay rides, starting at the courthouse square</p><p>» 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Mummy Manor, Johnson County Museum of History, 135 N. Main St.</p><p>» 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Frankenfest, Johnson County Public Library services center, 49 E. Monroe St., enjoy a “Frankenstein” read-a-thon, activities, crafts, photo opportunities and more.</p><p>» 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Games and crafts, courthouse square</p><p><strong>» Noon:</strong> Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest registration, courthouse square</p><p>» Noon to 3 p.m.: Pumpkin painting, JP Parker Flowers, 377 E. Jefferson St.; free fall photos, Salvage Sisters, 398 E. Jefferson St.</p><p>» 12:30 p.m.: Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest, courthouse square</p><p>» 1 to 2 p.m.: Magic show, courthouse square</p><p>» 2 and 7:30 p.m.: “Young Frankenstein,” Artcraft Theatre, 57 N.
