Bennett helps Marian remain unbeaten

<p>Marian linebacker <strong>Bailey Bennett</strong> tied for team honors with 10 tackles as the Knights football team celebrated homecoming with a 48-17 victory over 10th-ranked Concordia.</p><p>The former Center Grove standout, a sophomore, is second on the team in tackles with 29.5 entering today’s game at Manchester.</p><p><strong>CENTER GROVE</strong></p><p>Vanderbilt defensive end <strong>Cameron Tidd</strong> tied his career high with five tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in a 14-7 loss at Kentucky.</p><p><strong>Max Norris</strong> carried the ball 16 times for 87 yards for Western Illinois as it won at Missouri State, 31-14.</p><p>Indiana State running back <strong>Titus McCoy</strong> had four carries for 27 yards and a touchdown as the Sycamores defeated Southern Illinois, 24-21.</p><p>Sophomore defensive end <strong>Jovan Swann</strong> had three tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in Stanford’s 20-14 win at Arizona State.</p><p>Indianapolis safety <strong>Connor Steeb</strong> had five tackles in the Greyhounds’ 48-10 win against McKendree. Teammate <strong>Blake Moran,</strong> also a sophomore safety, had a tackle for UIndy.</p><p><strong>Joey Siderewicz</strong> caught two passes for 29 yards in Franklin College’s 64-20 defeat of Earlham.</p><p>Redshirt freshman <strong>Trevor Hohlt</strong> had a catch for 11 yards for Ball State in its 42-20 loss at home to Eastern Eastern.</p><p>Taylor defensive backs <strong>Sam Bolin</strong> and <strong>Tyler Watson</strong> each had a tackle in their team’s 28-19 victory at Lindenwood.</p><p>Cincinnati swimmer <strong>Caroline Sheehan</strong> helped the Bearcats take first in the 400 freestyle relay during a dual meet at IUPUI.</p><p>Franklin College sophomore <strong>Noah Tallman</strong> swam on the 200 medley relay team that finished fourth during the Indiana Division III meet at Wabash College.</p><p>Middle Tennessee volleyball swept UTEP behind the 39 assists and nine digs from junior setter <strong>Taylor Hammill</strong>. In a five-set loss to UT-Martin, Hammill finished with 36 assists, 12 digs and four kills.</p><p><strong>Ali Line’s</strong> six kills and five digs helped the Illinois State volleyball squad defeat Missouri State in straight sets.</p><p>Senior <strong>Zack Carrabine</strong> posted Butler’s lowest score (75-76-69—220) to lead the Bulldogs to an eighth-place finish at the Musketeer Classic hosted by Xavier. Individually, Carrabine tied for 16th place.</p><p><strong>WHITELAND</strong></p><p>Indiana Wesleyan junior <strong>Jared Williams</strong> finished 25th of 234 runners at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a time of 26:11. In the same race, Taylor senior <strong>Landry Long</strong> posted his team’s sixth-fastest time (27:36.86) and finished 100th overall.</p><p>Anderson senior receiver <strong>Matt Luechtefeld</strong> had two catches and a tackle for the Ravens in their 44-6 loss at Rose-Hulman.</p><p><strong><strong>GREENWOOD</strong></strong></p><p>Taylor cross country runner <strong>Hunter Smith</strong> finished 23rd of 234 runners at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in a time of 26:08.22.</p><p>Franklin College freshman <strong>Maddie Bright</strong> was tabbed as an All-HCAC honorable mention choice after going 7-2 in singles play and 9-1 in doubles during the fall tennis season.</p><p>Senior quarterback <strong>Tanner Skeel</strong> rushed three times for eight yards in Wabash’s 32-7 defeat of Oberlin.</p><p>Junior wideout <strong>Jackson Daugherty</strong> did his part in Hanover’s 48-14 win at Manchester with two receptions for 23 yards.</p><p><strong>FRANKLIN</strong></p><p>Third-ranked Indiana downed No. 1 Texas and eighth-ranked Florida in a three-way men’s swim meet. <strong>Adam Destrampe</strong> placed fifth in the 1,000 freestyle for IU, while Texas freshman <strong>Michael Couet</strong> tied for eighth in the 100 breaststroke and was part of the Longhorns’ fourth-place 400 medley relay.</p><p>Freshman outside hitter <strong>Rachel Kinney</strong> played two sets for Murray State in its 3-2 victory over Jacksonville State.</p><p>IUPUI freshman swimmer <strong>Anna McCahill</strong> won the 100-yard butterfly in 59.30 seconds in the Jaguars home meet against Western Illinois, Butler and Olivet Nazarene. She also finished fourth in that event against Cincinnati.</p><p>Trine freshman <strong>Alyvia Sundheimer</strong> made four kills and a block in the Thunder volleyball team’s 3-0 victory at Manchester.</p><p>Franklin College sophomore <strong>Abby Sewell</strong> had two kills in the Grizzlies’ loss to Earlham.</p><p><strong>EDINBURGH</strong></p><p>Senior cornerback <strong>Elliott Parmer</strong> helped Franklin College down Earlham, 64-20, with his two tackles and a pass breakup.</p><p><strong>INDIAN CREEK</strong></p><p>Swimmer <strong>Trey Shepherd</strong> was on the 200 medley relay team for Franklin College that placed fourth at the Division III state meet at Wabash College.</p><p>Trine cornerback <strong>James Starks</strong> made five tackles in the team’s 31-0 triumph over Finlandia in Hancock, Michigan.</p><p><strong>RONCALLI</strong></p><p>DePauw receiver <strong>Will Harris,</strong> a Greenwood resident, made three catches for 32 yards in the Tigers’ 38-23 loss at Wittenberg.</p>
