Man arrested on meth dealing charge

<p>A feud outside a gas station led to the arrest of an Indianapolis man on several charges, including a high-level felony charge of dealing methamphetamine.</p><p>Bobby Gene Roberts, 28, 1837 Westview Drive, was arrested on the dealing charge as well as charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a synthetic or lookalike drug, carrying a handgun without a license, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after police were called to a gas station in the 1300 block of U.S. 31 in Greenwood just after midnight on Tuesday.</p><p>He had about 30 grams of methamphetamine, police said.</p><p>Dealing in methamphetamine is a level 2 felony, which could mean up to 30 years in prison. Possession of methamphetamine is a level 4 felony, which could mean an additional 12 years.</p><p>All other charges would be misdemeanors should the prosecutor decide to file them.</p><p>Roberts and a woman were physically fighting outside the gas station’s main entrance, according to a Greenwood police report.</p><p>When police arrived, they noticed a handgun on Roberts’s hip, which he did not have a license for, the report said.</p><p>Officers told Roberts to show his hands, which he did not do until they drew their guns on him, according to the report. Police placed him in handcuffs and took the gun from him.</p><p>The woman he was fighting with had fresh bruises on her face and lips, but would not answer questions, police said.</p><p>Roberts told police he got into a fight with a man and had been struck with a golf club, according to the report.</p><p>He had several bags and a plastic container near him when police arrived, one of which had a personal safe inside. Also inside that bag, police found a zip-lock baggie which contained a green plant-like material, which Roberts said was a herbal smoking replacement he ordered online. It looked like marijuana but did not smell like it, police said.</p><p>Police found several large plastic baggies filled with the same material, two scales and two small plastic baggies containing methamphetamine, police said. It was packaged in a fashion that typically indicates it is being sold, according to the report.</p><p>They also found six Clonazepam pills, a schedule 4 controlled substance which Roberts did not have a prescription for, according to the report.</p><p>Roberts told police the bags and the container were his, the report said.</p><p>He is being held at the Johnson County jail on $40,600 bond.</p>
