GREENWOOD
Mr. Arthur Lloyd Raymer, Greenwood, passed away on the early morning of Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was 83. Mr. Raymer was born September 13, 1937 in Huff, Kentucky, a son of the late Cova Wayne and Eula Francis (Hardin) Raymer.
Lloyd attended Sunfish High School in Kentucky and graduated from Kailua High School in Hawaii. A proud veteran, he also served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He had been employed as an instructor with Amtrak and retired after 30 years of service. Lloyd was a golf enthusiast and lived to play and found ample time to hit the course after his retirement. He deeply loved his family and cherished the moments they could spend together. Lloyd was a member of the Greenwood Church of Christ.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Faye (Minton) Raymer; his children, Arthur Samuel (Laura) Raymer, Anita Faye Raymer Hopper and Michael Anthony Raymer; his grandchildren, Preston Davis Hopper, Nicholas Wayne Raymer, Tasha Marie Raymer, Hannah Katherine Gayhart and Landon Jameson Raymer; a great-grandchild, Kashton Davis Hopper, a sister, Lucille Self and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a sister, Loletta Rodgers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, June 14, 2021 at Forest lawn Funeral Home, 19977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Gravil Funeral Home, 537 N. Main St., Brownsville, Kentucky with burial following.
