Teen arrested on criminal confinement, battery charges

<p>A Greenwood teen was arrested after a relative told police he punched her, threw a drink on her and tried to prevent her from calling police.</p>
<p>Dakota A. Muse, 18, was arrested on charges of criminal confinement, a Level 6 Felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery.</p>
<p>The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, charges to file.</p>
<p>A woman called police at 2:27 p.m. Sunday and told dispatchers that a friend told her to call police because Muse was out of control and breaking things in the home, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.</p>
<p>Muse told police he was shopping with the relative when he and the relative got into an argument, the report said.</p>
<p>He told police he was mad because the relative would not take him to buy pants, so he broke her phone and flipped a coffee table. Muse told police he had anger issues and had not taken his medication that day, according to the report.</p>
<p>The relative told police Muse was acting out of control at a store, punched her and threw a drink at her in a car, the report said.</p>
<p>When Muse and the relative arrived home, Muse took her phone and smashed it to the ground. The woman tried to leave several times, but Muse grabbed her and used physical force to stop her from leaving, according to the report.</p>
<p>In once instance, Muse grabbed her neck and threw her on the couch. The relative told a friend to call police, the report said.</p>
<p>Police saw a fist print on the victim’s arm and redness around her neck, according to the report.</p>
<p>Muse, 741 Yellowwood Drive, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $2,200 bond.</p>
