Man charged with attempted murder

<p>A Bargersville man faces multiple felonies, including attempted murder, after he shot at a Bargersville police officer earlier this week. </p><p>Prosecutors on Thursday charged Andrew Phillip McQuinn, 27, with attempted murder, a Level 1 felony, unlawful possession of a firearm by a violent offender, a Level 4 felony, domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 and theft of a firearm, both Level 6 felonies. </p><p>A Level 1 felony is the highest felony someone can be charged with, besides murder.</p><p>McQuinn faces up to 57 years in prison if convicted on all charges and ordered to serve each sentence separately.</p><p>Bargersville police responded to a domestic disturbance around 8 p.m. Sunday at Clary Crossing Apartments on the northside of town, according to a Bargersville Police Department news release.</p><p>Dispatch told officers that a man and woman were involved, and there was a gun at the scene. An officer saw a muzzle flash in his direction and heard multiple gunshots, the news release said.</p><p>The officer took cover. The man threw the gun on the ground, laid down and officers arrested him, said Jeremy Roll, Bargersville police spokesman.</p><p>The responding officer was unsure of how many gunshots were fired, but investigating officers found six shell casings from a 9mm gun on the ground near the scene, Roll said.</p><p>A child inside the apartment at the time of the shooting was not hurt. The woman involved in the disturbance was treated at Community Hospital South, Roll said.</p><p>McQuinn remains in the Johnson County jail.</p>
