Stephen (Steve) R. Bennie entered into eternal rest on June 6. He was born in Linton, Indiana, January 17, 1943 to James A. and Artis O. (Clayton) Bennie.
</p>
<p>
Steve was a 1961 graduate of Southport High School. He worked as a time keeper at Link Belt Chain Division for 40 years. After retirement, he became lead driver for Lockhart Cadillac for 11 years.
</p>
<p>
He is survived by his wife, Penny Brehob Case Bennie; daughter, Jami Bennie; children, David Case, Aleta (GR) Crowder, Richard (Jennifer) Case, Aaron (Kellie) Case; former wife, Judy Tatum Moon; sister-in-law, Judith Bennie; brother-in-law, Chuck (Ann) Bailey; 10 grandchildren, Chrisalyn Bennie, Jordan and Jerika Crowder, Joel, Makena, Kaia, Sophia, Allison, Madison, Mason Case, and 5 great grands.
</p>
<p>
Preceded in death by parents; brother Larry Bennie; sister, Theresa Bailey; and infant grandson, Matthew Stephen Bennie.
</p>
<p>
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or Shriner’s Children Hospital.
</p>
<p>
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
